This actor is such a talent!
From ‘The Bold And The Beautiful’ to ‘American Horror Story’, Henry Samiri is making a difference in the entertainment industry! He currently stars in the Freeform series ‘The Watchful Eye’.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Henry about his advice to younger actors, Tom Holland, and more!
When did you realize that you wanted to pursue a career in acting?
H: “In the last two years, I’ve realized how much I like acting and I hope to be able to do it for my whole life. Being on different sets or on location in a made-up world is amazing and meeting new cast and crew is always so fun. And I also love catering and craft services!”
Tell us more about your new role in ‘The Watchful Eye’. What is it like playing a character with an intense background?
H: “Well, I’m used to playing a kid whose mom has died, so that is easy. I’m excited to see what they have in store for my character as Jasper grows and gets older and smarter about what is going on around the Greybourne. I love mysteries and any plot twist is fun and exciting to be a part of.”
You have starred in over 100 episodes of ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’! What has this experience been like?
H: “Incredible! I could not have asked for a better start to my career. It’s great to always have a job to go to. I love being Douglas! And, Bold and the Beautiful has the best cast and crew who always make me feel like I’m one of them. I don’t feel like I’m treated like a kid who gets in the way.”
You have worked with so many amazing stars. Are there any actors you would love to work with next?
H: “Tom Holland – All the Avengers. Mayim Bialik – I watch Jeopardy every day and hope to one day be on Celebrity Jeopardy. Jacob Tremblay – I think I should play his younger brother because everyone always says I look like him.”
When not acting, what are some of your favorite things to do?
H: “I love Hip Hop and am currently learning to tumble and trick. I love playing the drums and I play piano. And, of course, I like video games.”
How do you balance your school work with your amazing acting career?
H: “My mom teaches us not to procrastinate so I try to always do my work as soon as I get it and if I know I’m going to be working I ask for my school work ahead of time. That way, in case I get an audition or book a job I don’t fall behind. Also, when working on set I have to do 3 hours of school with a tutor so I’m able to get a lot of my work done during that time.”
What advice can you give to fellow young actors?
H: “Probably, to always practice your lines so you really know what your character is going to say and how they feel. The more comfortable I am with my lines the easier it is for me to just listen to my co-actors and respond to what they are saying or doing without having to think about what I should be saying. I also like to really know what the other characters are going through so I know how to react to them.”
