A star of many talents!
At such a young age, Summer Coleman has already made a strong impact in the fashion world. After walking in some of the biggest fashion shows in the world, she has launched her very own fashion line ‘Ete Alexandrie’.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Summer about her philanthropy, upcoming collection, and more!
What inspired you to become an actress?
S: “I was introduced to acting in kindergarten due to the school I attended being an arts school that included drama, music, dance, etc. I absolutely loved drama class and I had an amazing acting teacher who put in a lot of time helping shape my skills. I joined the drama club in fourth grade and I started to take off from there. Ever since then I have been sharpening my gift.”
Who is an actress or actor you’d like to work with in the future?
S: “I would love to work with Angela Bassett. She is an amazing actress who has skills that aren’t taught but natural. I would love to see her work in person and study under her as she has been able to take any role and slay.”
As a model, you’ve had the opportunity to walk NYFW and Miami Swim Week runways. Are there any others you’d love to walk in the future?
S: “I would love to walk for Paris Fashion Week along with Milan Fashion Week as well. Those are also places I really want to visit as well so to be able to work and experience the city would be amazing.”
What inspired you to donate to Autoimmune Syndrome Awareness (AIMS) organizations, Cancer Sucks, and various Anti-Bullying campaigns?
S: “I believe in giving back and helping those who are sometimes overlooked. I think participating in projects that don’t get as much light as others is very important if we want to help others. I also have a personal connection to cancer as my grandmother is a breast cancer survivor along with other family members. I know how hard it is on families when cancer strikes a family member so to be able to give to those families is a top priority when giving back. I was actually bullied when I was going in house to school so that is a subject that hits me to the core. I want to be able to reach those who are being bullied and be a king word that they need to keep their head up. I want to show that even pretty girls get bullied and that they’re not alone.”
What is the story behind your fashion line Ete Alexandrie?
S: “My mom thought having a teen yoga line was a great idea and pitched it to another designer. They actually suggested that I should create the line as I was very stylish at the time and continue to be. I started sketching a couple of days later and we knew a manufacturer.
Everything kind of fell in place. At the time that I created Ete Alexandrie, I was taking French classes and my first French teacher called me Ete which is Summer in French. My middle name is Alexandria and translated in French is Alexandrie.”
If you could collab with any fashion icon, who would it be and why?
S: “I honestly love the looks Zendaya has been serving honestly. She has some of the best looks ever and I would love to see what we could come up with.”
Can we expect to see new clothing from you in the future?
S: “Yes you can. A new collection is in the works right now as we speak that is going to be all about love. I am looking forward to expanding my brand down the line but right now I am really focused on perfecting my fitness wear.”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
S: “My instagram is @summercoleman03, my twitter is @summercoleman22, and my snapchat is @s.cole0223. My designer line, Ete Alexandrie, instagram is @ete.alexandrie.”
