A brand-new artist!
Singer-songwriter CHLOE STAR just made her official launch into the music industry. Today, she released her debut single ‘Element’ to her thousands of fans.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Chloe about her creative process, new NFTs, and more!
On January 20th, you will reveal your debut single “Element.” What can you tell us about your new single? NFT project of 20 unique? What can you tell us about the NFT project coming out alongside the single?
C: “Yes! I can’t wait for the world to hear “Element!” I worked on the song with my producer Redd and songwriters, Wesley Stromberg and Drew Chadwick. The energy that we felt in the room is the energy you feel in the song. It felt like a party that we were creating for the world.
The NFT collection will be based on the lyrics. Each NFT is going to be a one-off but the visual theme of the collection is futuristic. Burning money will be incorporated, chrome colors, spinning and exploding objects, etc.”
“Element” is the first track from your forthcoming EP that is due out later this year. What can you tell us about the new EP?
C: “I am super excited for the whole EP to be out! The EP is a combination of punk and pop with all live instrumentation, guitar, bass, keys, and some drum programming. It tells a story through the melodies. It is a work in progress and I am continuing to write, so who knows what’s really to come!”
What was your inspiration for the EP?
C: “My growth as an artist really inspired this project. I feel like I’ve gone through so many phases as an artist and have finally found myself.”
Do you have a favorite song from the EP?
C: “My favorite song on the EP is “Straight Girls.” I definitely can’t wait for that one to be out! I will be releasing that song in February, so stay tuned!”
What are you most excited about for the new year, besides your EP?
C: “I am excited to continue writing, creating visual art, shooting music videos, collaborating with other artists, and performing!”
What is your creative process like?
C: “My process is so fluid! It really depends on the mood I am in. I usually like to start tracking melodies first which then lead to the lyrics organically coming together. I always make sure I write down any lyric or any idea that pops into my head and to record any melodies that come to me. When I’m in sessions, I like to have at least 2 candles lit, Palo Santo burning, and I like to do a short meditation with the writers/producers before we get started to really set the vibe.”
How has the pandemic impacted you as a singer/songwriter?
C: “The pandemic actually helped me grow creativity in all areas. I took some time to really develop my craft both visually and sonically. Being alone with nowhere to go and nothing to do left me with only myself. I was constantly finding new creative outlets. I became extremely focused on visual art and art itself, which then led me to dive deeper into my music. I transformed my living room and dining room into a full working art studio. It became a process that was so crucial for my music career.”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
C: “I am on all platforms! You can find me on Apple Music, Spotify, and Youtube!” Instagram: @Frenchtoastkiller | TikTok: @Frenchtoastkiller
