A young breakout star!
Ryan Buggle quickly got our attention years ago after starting his amazing role of Noah Benson in ‘Law And Order: SVU’. The show recently aired its 24th season.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Ryan about the auditioning process for SVU, advice for fellow actors, and more!
How did you find out you got the role of ‘Noah Benson’?
R: “It’s so hard to believe that it was almost 6 years ago now! I was so little, haha! I know that I auditioned for a much smaller role at the time and it just so happened that they were looking for an actor to play Noah. Before I played Noah, he was played by a few different adorable babies and toddlers. I remember I kept getting callbacks for a “slightly larger role” that ended up with a chemistry test with Mariska and obviously we hit it off from the very beginning! A day later, my manager called and I remember jumping up and down so excited mostly because at the time I was obsessed with eating candy on sets and all of the lights and cameras.”
What’s a favorite memory of yours from set?
R: “There are so many! A recent one is doing a photoshoot with Ice-T, he is such a cool guy! I may have gotten to drive around in a cop car with him…. “
Who would be your dream co-star?
R: “One of my absolute favorite actors is Tom Holland, I look up to him so much. It would be a dream if I was given the opportunity to act along side him. I love that he was a ballet dancer and a gymnast too! He didn’t let anyone stop him from dancing and being who he is and I really admire that about him.”
How did it feel to be such a big on-screen representation for LGBTQ+ youth?
R: “When I first filmed the scene I honestly didn’t think I was doing anything amazing. I just thought this was such an awesome scene to take in, where a mom totally accepts her kid. How awesome is it for Noah too be that brave enough to express who he is? Especially for standing up for other kids at school who were being bullied. Was really grateful the show trusted me with this type of role. The reaction has been really overwhelming and such a positive experience, I hope to continue making all of the fans proud.”
Do you have any tips for other aspiring young actors?
R: “Act because you love to do it! I’m not an expert and I go on so many auditions that I never get, but I just love the whole process.”
Aside from acting, you also dance. What is your favorite style of dance?
R: “Contemporary and ballet for sure! If you consider acro a style a dance though, hands down acro. I want to be a stunt person one day.”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
R: “I’m on Instagram @ryanbuggle.”
See Noah absolutely nail his role in ‘Law And Order: SVU’, available now on NBC!
