We know most of you are focused on getting on the thrill rides at Universal Studios Orlando, but these Christmas shows deserve your full attention.
And remember, January 1st is the last day of Christmas activities at both Universal Studios and Islands Of Adventure, so make sure to book soon!
#1-Universal Christmas Parade, Featuring Macy’s
The absolute showstopper of the trip had to be the Macy’s and Universal Studios Christmas parade. We geared up to watch it at 5pm and it ended up being well over 20 minutes of entertainment! The floats were amazing and featured everyone from the penguins of the Madagascar film franchise, to the iconic Shrek characters. And here’s a tip! During the parade, when the Santa passes the Jimmy Fallon ride, the beautiful Christmas lights at the gigantic Christmas tree nearby are turned on and light up the night! Make sure you walk with the parade so you don’t miss the magical moment.
#2-The Grinchmas Wholiday Spectacular
Next, head over to Islands of Adventure and see the Grinchmas Wholiday Spectacular. It was a classic retelling of the original Who-Ville story, that belongs on off-broadway! The singers were terrific and we were impressed by the real-life dog playing the role of Max. The Grinch was absolutely hilarious and we were not expecting the snow to fall from the ceiling at the end of the show. We definitely recommend getting in to see the first showing of the day. When we were leaving, there was already a line piling up for the next performance!
#3-The Magic Of Christmas Hogwarts Castle
The perfect show to close out a day of fun. The light show illuminates off of the full-scale Hogwarts castle in Islands of Adventure, and is truly a sight to see. In order to do both in one night, we strongly suggest hopping onto the train right after the parade in Universal Studios to get the full Christmas experience!
