A jack of all trades!
After his incredible reoccurring role in the popular BET+ series ‘The Family Business’, Nazo Bravo is showing off his producing skills with his upcoming film ‘Wages Of Sin’.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Nazo about working behind the screen, his upcoming music plans, and more!
When did you first realize that you want to pursue a career in entertainment?
N: “I started in music and it just happened very organically. People told me I had a good
rapping voice and I’d write poetry when I was younger, so writing songs just came
naturally. A lot of my favorite rappers started careers in film and TV and whether I
realized that at first or not, I saw that as something I’d like to get into so I walked into an
acting class one day and it was on from there.”
Tell us more about your amazing role in BET’s ‘Family Business’.
N: “I play Demetri Igor, a Russian oligarch on the show. I started in season 3, about a year before the war broke out, and was brought back for season 4 which is currently streaming on BET+ with new episodes every week. Demetri is very calculating, very shrewd. It’s a fun character and I really enjoy working with the filmmakers, cast and crew. I’ve had the honor of sharing the screen with some greats including Ernie Hudson and Steven Williams so the whole experience has been fantastic.”
Do you think you have anything in common with Demetri?
N: “We both like wearing suits!”
What are you most excited for the fans to see in Season 4?
N: “There’s quite a bit of drama and things getting shaken up with certain characters so I
think fans will enjoy the ride.”
Tell us about your upcoming project ‘Wages of Sin’.
N: “It’s an action thriller that I’m producing with my film partner S. Cyrus Sepher, who also
wrote the screenplay. We have a very talented director on board, Victor Rios, and the
film stars Paul Sloan and Danny Trejo. I also have a supporting role in the film and we’re
currently in production in Los Angeles. It’s been great making an action film in my home
town and we’re getting some amazing stuff so I’m excited for people to see it when it
comes out!”
What is more challenging to you: working in front of the screen, or behind?
N: “Behind the screen. Working in front of the screen is the fun part, and while I enjoy being more hands on in the creative process behind the screen, it can get challenging. The whole process of writing or finding a good script, getting the project packaged & financed, making sure everything is in place during pre-production, production, and post-production, and getting it across the finish line to secure distribution is all a very involved and time consuming process. There are pitfalls at every step along the way, but when it comes together it’s very rewarding.”
You also have an incredible music career. Would you consider releasing more music in the
future?
N: “Definitely. I’m mixing my new single and album which I’ll be rolling out soon. I also plan
on contributing some music to ‘Wages of Sin’.”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
N: “I’m most active on Instagram @NazoBravo. My music is on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube. And my website NazoBravo.com.”
