The popular artist is back!
Singer-songwriter Hayden Everett just dropped a brand new single and accompanying music video ‘Redwoods’. This single is a part of his upcoming EP ‘Silver Line’. And it’s an amazing introduction to the project!
We had the absolute honor of talking with Hayden about his songwriting process, dream collaboration, and more!
How do you think you have grown as a music artist since your first start?
H: “I definitely think I have found my sound more and honed my voice as a lyricist. This upcoming EP is the first project that I completely self produced, and it feels great to have grown in my ability to record and capture exactly what’s in my head. “
Tell us more about your amazing new EP ‘Silver Line’.
H: “Yeah! ‘Silver Line’ is a collection of 5 songs I wrote over the past year and they have a pretty wide range of both production / sound and lyrical content. The thread that ties through all 5 songs is the concept of silver lining and pretending everything is okay in times when it’s not. This theme threads throughout songs about the environment, religion, philosophy, and love / the loss of it.”
If you had to choose, what is your favorite track off of the project?
H: “Hmmm yeah tough one. I think right now I’d probably say Redwoods because I’ve gotten to perform it a good amount recently and audiences have engaged really fully and emotionally with it. But my answer to that one changes every day :).”
What is your songwriting process usually like?
H: “Totally different every time! Sometimes I start with a piano or guitar idea and sit on it for months before attempting to pair it with melody or words. Other times a full song will come out in a day.”
How would you personally describe your sound?
H: “I have deep roots in jazz and classical music, having studied piano since I was 4. Studying jazz piano performance in college definitely plays a big piece into my sound being keys/synth forward. I am very drawn to cinematic and emotional music and I think that also comes through quite clearly.”
Is there a fellow music artist you want to work with in the future?
H: “Oh yeah tons! It would be a dream to work with an artist called Mk.Gee in the future.”
You have well over 2 Million streams on just Spotify alone! What has been your reaction to
this amazing growth?
H: “So surreal! Still can’t believe I’m fortunate enough to have attentive ears listening to what I have to say and sing. Can’t wait for people to hear this next project and am deeply hoping it’ll resonate wildly.”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
H: “Anywhere that you listen to your music! And hopefully in whatever city you live, I’d hope to be playing these songs in person to people all over the country as soon as I can!”
