A booked and busy actor!
We’ve seen Jasper star in everything from ‘American Horror Story’ to ‘The Family Business’. Now, he’s set to star in the upcoming BET Christmas film ‘A MIRACLE BEFORE CHRISTMAS’.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Jasper about working on the film ‘Fall’, his current favorite shows, and more!
When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a career in the entertainment industry?
J: “I was a kid when I saw THE WIZARD OF OZ and like so many others, was mesmerized by it all. especially the Scarecrow, Lion and Tin Man. I didn’t know what it meant to be an “actor” at that age but I knew I wanted to do whatever that was. I was drawn to character roles from the very beginning.”
Tell us more about your character and your new storyline in Season 4 of ‘The Family Business’.
J: “I play CORY BLACK who is the head of a Pittsburgh biker gang that is part of L.C. Duncan’s (Ernie Hudson) Drug cartel. Season 3, I helped to introduce a new drug on the scene which has caused friction with L.C. and in season 4 we will see how it all turns out for Cory.”
Do you think that you have anything in common with Cory?
J: “I think we both like to be in control and be our own boss as much as we can. Cory, probably could’ve done well in the legit business world instead of the crime underworld and I hope that I’m a good business person as well. It took me awhile to really understand that it’s called Show Biz for a reason.”
What was your experience like working on the incredible film ‘Fall’?
J: “It was my first job during the pandemic and it was a leap of faith on my part to actually leave my house and go back to work but I’m so glad I did. I was a fan of the director Scott Mann and his work so I was honored to be cast as “Steve”. It was a great experience and there are only like 6 actors in the whole film and we shot all of my stuff outside in high desert so that was perfect during a pandemic. I’m so impressed with the film and the cast especially the two lead actresses WOW. They really are amazing in it. Fall is currently available in digital release worldwide.”
Besides the things you are currently starring in/have starred in before, what are you watching right now?
J: “I’m a huge reality TV fan so I watch most of the HOUSEWIVES and other Bravo shows as well as Documentaries. On the scripted side I just finished DAHMER and started the new series on Peacock A FRIEND OF THE FAMILY. HACKS is my favorite comedy along with I LOVE THAT FOR YOU starring Molly Shannon and Vanessa Bayer. So many great shows and so little time to watch them all.”
Is there a specific type of role you would love to play in the future?
J: “I keep putting this out there hoping it happens so here I go. I would love to be on a Police Procedural series playing an undercover cop who goes undercover as a Homeless guy. Drug dealer, Drug addict, all of the characters I’ve been blessed to play on TV and film over the years. It would be great to be part of an ensemble cast.”
Can you tease what we might see you in next?
J: “In addition to the upcoming holiday telefilm, A MIRACLE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, I’m co-starring and Executive Producing a new dark comedy series KOMBUCHA CURE starring Tamara Braun, Denise Boutte, Jennifer Bassey, Robert Craighead, Darrell Larson, and other really talented actors which premieres in December. I also have a fun guest star role in the second season of the hilarious comedy series SMOTHERED starring Jason Stuart and Mitch Hara and a fun cameo in the new film SALLYWOOD starring Oscar nominee Sally Kirkland. I’m also working on a new comedy series starring comedian Brian Dunkleman.”
Give us a sneak peek of A MIRACLE BEFORE CHRISTMAS and your co-starring role alongside LeToya Luckett and Romeo.
J: “A MIRACLE BEFORE CHRISTMAS is a wonderful holiday film written and directed by LazRael Lison — I Co-Produced it and have a supporting role as billionaire “James Maxwell” an Elon Musk-type with not-so-admirable morals and values, to say the least, It was a really great experience to work with LeToya and Keith David and an uber talented cast and crew. It premieres December 8 on BET+ and December 23 on BET.”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
J: “I’m on Instagram and Twitter @jaspercolesays, Facebook and my website www.jaspercole.com has all my info. We will be back for season 11 of my podcast and radio show ONE ON ONE WITH JASPER COLE in January.”
