Such a talented duo!
Made up of brothers AJ and Tony, the Jordan Fellas are definitely becoming ones to watch. They are mostly known for collabing on their debut novel ‘Eeerily Wrinkling’.
We had the amazing honor of to the two about balancing their career with school, advice to future writers, and more!
“Wrinkling City is a nationalistic society created to shield those affected by the outsider’s harmful radiation due to weapons testing. A city of splendor, with riches and horrors beyond your wildest dreams. For the past eleven years, Alan Ritson has lived and studied abroad while attending Cambridge University. Now he is dreading the return to his childhood home in Wrinkling City. A place where twelve keys hold the secrets and destruction of a majestic place separated from the outside world and the supernatural is not only possible but the norm. He must discover what happened to his parents without falling victim to the city’s many dangers and temptations. Returning means opening new wounds, fighting forgotten foes, and unexpected risk while untangling the ever-growing web of lies and deceit. His return is unwanted by both himself and the city’s residents. Old rivals threaten to bring the city to its knees while new menaces use every opportunity to capitalize on the city’s resources to use for their own gain. A side effect of radiation exposure, some of the residents have genetic mutations labeling them – superheroes. Others sharing the same mutations try to take over not only Wrinkling but ultimately the world.”
Do you guys have a favorite character from the novel?
AJ: “We both love every character but my favorite (AJ) is Alan Ritson. He has a kind of Dr. Jekyll-like vibe to him. Plus he’s really smart with a phD in robotics from Cambridge University.Tony here, my favorite character is definitely Johnny Blizzard. He’s the most authentic in my opinion. He’s funny, loyal to Wrinkling and unapologetically rare with his feelings on Alan – despite him being a framer. Also, I have a personal attachment to the character because he was the first one I created.”
Tony: This was your first experience at Character Development. What was that process like?
Tony: “Yes, I had never created a character before. It was really cool giving these characters life. I created Johnny Blizzard (local celebrity and news anchor). Arlo Amspoker (shamanistic and framer). Daniel Biochi (tween boy suffering from leukemia and currently calls Wrinkling Children’s Hospital home). Aunt Linn (Alan’s aunt and framer). I enjoyed describing to AJ how each character would respond in certain scenarios and seeing them coming alive on paper was gratifying.”
Tony: You are also a signed model. Do you enjoy your modeling career?
Tony: “Absolutely! I started modeling when I was 4. I learned a lot about patience and timeless both I was struggling with. I’m looking forward to modeling my some items from my online shop in November. It’ll be cool seeing my style on others. Well, I hope they buy it – fingers crossed”.
How do you guys balance your careers and your school lives?
AJ: “One answer- mom. She is serious about school and nothing absolutely nothing happens until all school work is done. Currently, I attend Virtual School at Pali and Tony has been doing virtual school since 5th grade. On Thursdays our mom reviews our works and confirms that grades are good and everything is turned. For Tony he has a meeting with his lead teacher that she attends. If something is missing or we receive a bad mark. Our weekends are a Amish existence. Even if we’ve booked something. We have to cancel. Cancel too many times and they stop booking you.”
What advice would you give to others who might want to write a book of their own?
“Don’t have your mom critic it. She is super kind at first then in two point five seconds she turns into Kathy Bates from Misery. But if you’re not your editor or have an Advanced Reader Copy of the book – I say go for it. Just make sure you write what you want to write about and not listen to those who want you to write what they want. Be confident in the story that you’re telling.”
What are your future plans for the Eerily Wrinkling World?
AJ: “To continue to expand the world building. Introduce new characters and obstacles. I already have the outline for the 2nd book and Tony has created new characters.”
Where can we follow your amazing journeys?
