Olivia Lunny On Her Rising Fame, Collab With Bhad Bhabie, And New Single ‘Wonderland’

Olivia Lunny is no stranger to the music industry and to New Scene. With over 10 Million streams and a fanbase rising by the day, she was also our print cover star for our May 2021 issue. And now, she’s back with the release of her new single ‘Wonderland’.

We had the amazing honor of talking with Olivia once again to advice for fans, the idea of touring, and more!

Hi Olivia! The last time we spoke, you were our May 2021 coverstar. Look how you’ve grown; we are so proud of you! How have you been since then? 

O: “Time is truly flying by! I appreciate New Scenes support so much, thank you for chatting again!  I’ve been working on so much new music… “Wonderland” is my 2nd single to come shortly!”

Tell us more about your amazing new single “Wonderland.” What is its meaning? 

O: “A few weeks prior to entering the session for “Wonderland,” I had just rewatched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Seeing this movie again inspired me as I pondered ideas for a song. “Wonderland” is the feeling you experience when you’re with someone who makes time disappear/ the state of chasing your dreams! I hope this song brings positive energy and inspiration into the world for listeners!”

You recently partnered with artist Bhad Bhabie for the single “VIBE CHECK.” What was that experience like for you? 

O: “This song came together very effortlessly. Myself and AJ were vibing to a beat loop and I came up with a few melodies. We found ourselves totally sidetracked mid session goofing “Gen Z Slag” and the term “Vibe Check” inspired us… We ended up using that phrase in our chorus and it led to the title of the track! Beyond the lyrics, I’ve been finding myself diving into more genres lately and loving artists like PinkPantheress, FKA Twigs, etc. I’ve been a fan of Bhad Bhabie’s music for a while now. When I was scrolling on TikTok one day with a potential feature in mind, one of her vids popped up. We reached out and the rest is history!”

Speaking of collabs, is there an artist you would love to work with in the new year? 

O: “I’ve been loving SAINT JHN, I just saw him live on my past trip to London, it would be incredible to get in the studio with him and see his process!”

So far, you have received over 15 Million streams on just Spotify alone. Has the amount of fame you have hit you yet? 

O: “I’m so grateful people are listening to my music. It definitely feels surreal to picture that many people knowing and loving it. I can’t wait to continue growing that number and to keep connecting with people around the world through our shared experiences!”

Any advice for your fans who want to pursue a career in music? 

O: “Make as much music as you can. Write tons, play anywhere and everywhere. I truly believe good music will find the people it needs to, it just may not be an immediate thing. Stay persistent and create art you truly can stand behind and champion!”

You now have an incredible music catalog! Would you consider going on tour soon?

O: “I have some tours pending right now – stay tuned I cannot wait to play all this music live!”
