A breakout superstar!
Imogen made headlines this year after her amazing portrayal of the role ‘Zina’ in the new series reboot ‘The Fairly Odd Parents: Fairly Odder’.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Imogen about her Broadway goal, favorite childhood shows, and more!
When did you realize that you wanted to pursue a career in acting?
I: “When I was 6, my dad introduced me to Shakespeare. I would sit in the audience watching him perform. From the age of 8, I attended Shakespeare camp, and it really inspired me to do theater and I became passionate about acting. During the pandemic, I started auditioning for TV and film.“
Tell us more about your amazing role in the new live-action series of ‘The Fairly Odd Parents’.
I: “My character Zina is the zany, fashionable, loyal BFF to Vivian Turner. Part of the reason why Zina became so close to Viv is because Viv is Roy’s stepsister, but also because Zina saw potential in building a great friendship with her. Zina is hopelessly devoted to Roy and even though her love is not reciprocated, that doesn’t bother her one bit. She will continue to believe that they are soulmates until the end of time. I definitely think Roy is missing out.”
Do you think you have anything in common with your character ‘Zina’?
I: “Totally! We both love fashion and Zina is somewhat of an actress herself. Almost every episode she enters her fantasy world and becomes different characters, usually to support Roy. If Roy is injured, she is his WWII nurse or if Roy is running for a school president, she’s his first lady.
You are also going to make your Disney debut in the 2023 film ‘The Naughty Nine’. What was the filming experience like for you?
I: “Great! I made a lot of new friends, and it was super fun! We filmed the movie in the beautiful city of Montreal. The only downside was the freezing cold weather!”
Since it’s a Christmas film, do you have any Christmas traditions with your family?
I: “My family and I love to decorate the house for Christmas. Last year we had just moved into our new house, so we were too busy unpacking to decorate. To make up for that, I am going to go above and beyond with this year’s decorating.”
Now that you have worked for both Disney and Nickelodeon, did you have a favorite childhood show/movie from each network growing up?
I: “I was obsessed with both channels! My favorite Disney show is KC Undercover, and my favorite Nickelodeon show is definitely Victorious. I had a phase where I wouldn’t watch anything but Victorious.”
You also have a love for music. Do you think you would release your own music one day?
I: “My big dream is to go to Broadway but making my own music is something I would love to do one day.”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
I: “My Instagram is @imogen_cohen My TikTok is @imogencohenofficial.”
