This singer-songwriter is back!
With millions of streams on just Spotify alone, artist Caleb Hearn is quickly becoming a singer to watch. And now, he’s back today with the release of his new EP ‘We’re Getting Older’.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Caleb about his songwriting process, rising fame, and more!
Who are some musicians you’d love to work with in the future?
C: “There is a long list of musicians I want to work with in the future, but a few are NF, Dean Lewis, and Finneas. NF was one of my biggest inspirations as a kid, so working with him would be really cool. I also am constantly feeling inspired by Dean Lewis and Finneas, so I would love to work with them to learn more about their writing processes. “
What is your favorite part of performing?
C: “My favorite part of performing is looking at the crowd and seeing fans’ reactions to my songs. Nothing means more to me than seeing fans sing the words back to me. It’s an indescribable feeling, and it makes me realize how much of an impact my music has on people.”
What is your songwriting process usually like?
C: “I generally start with a concept or line that I think is really cool and then just let the writing flow from there. For example, for We’re Getting Older, I came up with the line “I know that we’re young, but we’re getting older” and then kept brainstorming to eventually have enough to write a whole song around the line.”
What has been your reaction to receiving over 2.1M+ monthly listeners on Spotify & 95M+ cumulative streams?
C: “It is honestly such a surreal thing to think about, and I still find it crazy that there are so many people who engage with my music on a monthly basis. I am super thankful that people choose to listen to my songs, and seeing these numbers helps keep me inspired and driven. Knowing that so many people already listen makes me want to reach an even larger audience so I can connect with more people through my music.”
What was the inspiration behind your latest EP, We’re Getting Older?
C: “We’re Getting Older is the most personal project I’ve ever worked on, and it outlines a bunch of big events in my life over the past 9 to 10 months. While I’ve been processing different feelings, I’ve also been writing songs to try and better understand them. After writing tons of songs, I picked the ones that best described who I am and who I am becoming.”
Who do you consider to be your musical influencers?
C: “John Mayer is one of my biggest musical influences because of how much vulnerability there is in his music. I really admire his songwriting ability and hope to be as good as he is one day. Justin Bieber also has a major influence on my music, especially when it comes to melodies. He is one of the best artists at introducing new and creative melodies that no one has heard before.”
Can we expect more music from you in the future?
C: “Yes! As soon as I finished this EP, I began working on songs for future projects. There is a lot more coming soon!”
Where can we follow your amazing journey?
C: “You can follow me on Instagram and TikTok @CalebHearnMusic.”
