Businesswoman to the stars!
Influencer Tara Electra is quickly showing the world her super-star status. She is an amazing entrepreneur, being the Co-Founder of Unruly Agency, which has had major clients like Tana Mongeau and Harry Jowsey.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Tara about how to be successful on social media, upcoming podcast, and more!
When did you first realize you wanted to pursue a career in this industry?
T: “I was on social media so much that I was addicted to the apps like everyone else. I started to see how many hours a day I would typically spend on the social channels which got me to thinking that if I was going to be on them this much, I need to figure out how to start generating revenue. Then I started to learn about the concept of content creators as it was just being introduced into the market. I started surrounding myself around social media influencers, figuring out how they were able to monetize their brand, and then started to creatively figure out ways to help them so we could make money together.”
You launched Unruly Agency three years ago. Are you proud of how your company has progressed over the years?
T: “I’m extremely proud of the team that we have built over the years, we’ve established a solid infrastructure. I feel as if we have already gone through all the leaps and hurdles that every startup needs to hit before getting to the level that we’re at now. With a well-built foundation backed by some of the most incredible team members who are passionate about what they do, we have been able to bring on more creators to collaborate with us. We live and breathe Unruly.”
What advice can you give to rising influencers who want to stand out on their platforms?
T: “First, figure out what you want to do in the social media realm – find a niche area that makes you excited and that you really are passionate about. Follow people within that space and really study what makes them stand out on the platform and start drawing up content ideas with your own creative and personal twist.”
What qualities do you think are absolutely necessary to be successful on social media?
T: “Use a third-party platform that is not attached to a specific social channel, for example, link-in-bio spaces. I use hoo.be. These add-ons to your social media pages can help you reach a much broader audience and send out alerts about brand promotions or feature the latest content through text or email blasts that are not reliant on social algorithms. That is super valuable for talent.”
You have worked with some of the biggest brands in history. What campaign/client has truly stood out to you so far?
T: “Tana [Mongeau] always. There’s no specific campaign that I can specifically pinpoint because we’ve done so many different deals and businesses together. Her creativity is unmatched, you can give her an assignment and with her vision, she just knows how to push a brand to her audience in such a way that will appeal to her fanbase. I think that is why she consistently amazes me, her artistic beauty of freely being who she is.”
You recently announced that you are about to create a podcast. Can we get any hints of what that will look like?
T: “I’m really excited about the launch of my very own podcast, it’s going to be a one-stop for everything across music, business, and entertainment verticals. This is something that I’m really passionate about, I think that the Unruly fanbase, my followers, and the people who have been supporting me throughout my career are going to really gravitate towards this podcast as it really has something for everyone. I want to be able to give something back and guide them through whatever they’re going through, whether it’s a business venture, relationship advice, or trying to break in as an influencer. I’m already planning out episodes and going to have some really great guests join me on the show. I’m really excited to dive right into the podcast realm, I can’t wait for everyone to hear it. Stay tuned in for updates, I’m going to be announcing it very soon!”
