This young influencer is back with another hit!
With millions of likes and a loyal fanbase, influencer Mila Nabours is truly becoming a name to know. She’s also known for her incredible music, including her recent single ‘Memory’.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Mila about supporting Ukraine, phrase she lives by, and more!
First of all, congratulations on modeling in New York Fashion Week! Can you tell us what that experience was like?
M: “I absolutely love traveling and I love New York, so being able to model there has been an absolute blast! I’m very grateful to work alongside an incredible team of models and designers, and traveling and doing shows with people I’m close with is an extra bonus.”
You’re clearly a person with many talents! Between acting, singing, social media, and countless projects, how do you balance so many things at once?
M: “Thank you! Balancing everything I have going on can definitely be overwhelming sometimes, especially because my schedule is very spontaneous, but prioritizing my activities and making sure I have enough downtime for myself has been the key for staying happy and productive.”
Lately, you’ve been working hard on your music career and putting out lots of new music. Can you share your approach to making music?
M: “My music process starts by my music producer, Andrew Lane, sending me tracks for me to choose – I then get in a writing session with my co-songwriting partner, Mimi Tomar, and we brainstorm ideas of what kind of story and theme I want my song to have. From there, we jot down lyrics, start humming melodies, and within a couple hours we have a brand new song all finished! My last step in this process is getting in the studio for a couple sessions to lay down rough and final vocals for the song, before it is mixed and mastered. Once this is all done and I’m happy with the final sound, it’s ready to be released!”
How would you describe your musical style?
My musical style is lyrical yet upbeat. I like my music to be very storytelling and sometimes outside the box, while still keeping a catchy beat.
Your single, Memory, has a special meaning behind it. Can you tell us about this song and what you hope it will accomplish?
M: “Memory” is a very important song to me because it is dedicated to Alzheimer’s, as two of my grandparents suffer from it. With this song, I want to connect with those who may also have family going through the same disease, as well as raise awareness to those who may not be as familiar with Alzheimer’s.”
You’ve also been raising money on social media for those affected by the war in Ukraine. Why do you feel it is important to use your platform in this way?
M: “I think that raising awareness, especially for such big issues such as the war in Ukraine, is one of the most influential things I can do with my platform. Using my platform in a positive way to educate and inform my audience about real issues going on around the world is something I feel will help make a big impact.”
What’s one thing you think your fans would be surprised to learn about you?
M: “Something some of my audience doesn’t know is that I speak Spanish! I went to a Spanish Immersion school since a very young age, and am now incorporating Spanish in my music. My original song, “New Moon,” part of my EP “Vision,” includes Spanish in the chorus.”
Do you have any upcoming projects you can tell us about?
M: “I’ve recently recorded various songs for upcoming movie soundtracks! Besides that, I’m in the works of starting to film for new web-series and shows! When it comes to traveling, I’m going to be touring starting the beginning of next year to perform and host at international events! Super excited for projects coming.”
What’s a phrase or saying that you try to live by?
M: “My favorite phrase I always keep in the back of my mind is, “everything happens for a reason.”
What’s something you are most excited to do this summer? Do you have any Summer 2022 bucket list items?
M: “I’m super excited to be traveling with family and friends this summer! Besides that, I’m looking forward to the new music I’m going to be recording and acting projects I have coming up.”
