The Mcleod Family Talks About The Importance of Acceptance And Adoption Journey

This family is a true internet breakout!

With only a short time on social media so far, The Mcleod Family is truly one of the best group of influencers. Made up of Eeka Mcleod and her children, Eli, Evan, Ella, the group has earned themselves over 50 Million views on Youtube alone. They support and advocate for several minority groups, including single parents, the LGBTQ+ community, and people with disabilities.

We had the amazing honor of talking with Eeka Mcleod on how they started vlogging, a fun fact about herself, and more!

What message do you have for your supporting fans?

E: “The message for anyone who’s supported us throughout this journey would be THANK YOU! I wish I could give each and every person a huge hug! We are beyond grateful and absolutely recognize that we could not have done this without them.”

What message do y’all have for families interested in starting a YouTube channel?

E: “I honestly don’t know YouTube that well. But my mantra for social media has always been to post what brings me joy. Someday, when this is all over, I will still be able to look back at our photos and videos and remember all the moments that made our lives so magical.”

What message do you have for those advocating for those with disabilities?

 E: “This is not an easy road. Individuals with disabilities are often overlooked. Don’t be afraid to make some noise for them!”

What message do you hope people take away from these vlogs?

E: “The importance of acceptance and inclusion. There’s no substitute for it. Acceptance and inclusion when coupled with love and support have the power to change lives.”

What inspired y’all to start vlogging?

 E: “Our followers asked us to so I just went for it.”

What message would you give to those interested in adopting?

 E: “Adoption isn’t the beautiful thing most believe it is. Adoption is loss, grief, and pain. Respect that aspect of the experience for yourself, the child, and the biological family.”

What is something people would be surprised about?

E: “I’m a living kidney donor!”
