This young musician is in the big leagues!
If you’ve been listening to the latest music, you’ve probably heard Andrea Ferrero’s incredible talent. From ”Don’t Text Me When You’re Drunk” by Stacey Ryan to ”Por Ti” by 3AM, her guitar-playing is truly next-level.
We had the amazing honor of talking with Andrea on her original music, when she first start playing the guitar, and more!
When did you first realize that you wanted to pursue a career in music?
A: “I started playing guitar when I was 10 years old. I think it was two years after that I decided that I wanted to pursue music as a career. Even though there aren’t any musicians in my family, I always felt a connection with music and huge love and passion for guitar, so it wasn’t hard for me to realize that that’s what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.”
You have worked with so many artists: Have you ever been starstruck?
A: “Life is so crazy and because of my career, I’ve been able to meet so many people I never thought I would meet, people whom I have admired and watched for so many years, but in the end, they are just normal people, and because of their humbleness sometimes it’s easy to forget how famous they are.”
Who would you say are your biggest music inspirations?
A: “I have plenty, but just to name a few, I would say: Nile Rodgers, Mike Stern, Cory Wong, Michael Jackson, Mark Lettieri, Mateus Asato, and many more.”
You currently work with Netflix: How has this experience been for you so far?
A: “During my time working at Netflix and Happy Madison Productions I have gotten the chance to work with some of my favorite composers, music editors, and music supervisors. It’s amazing to be in an environment of pure learning and get the chance to be around people who have been in this industry for so long.”
Aside from Netflix, what has been your favorite experience so far?
A: “Aside from my job at Netflix and Happy Madison Productions, I work as a session and live musician, and some of my favorite experiences are the opportunities I’ve had to be on stage playing for so many people as I did when I used to go on tour in my country Venezuela or some shows I’ve had here in the US.”
What is your favorite aspect of performing?
A: “Performing is my favorite thing to do ever. There is something with the energy and excitement coming from the crowd that makes me feel a certain way that I am not able to feel in any other circumstance.”
How important do you think Hispanic representation is for the music industry?
A: “I think Hispanic music is definitely growing more and more through the years and probably now it is on its biggest moment ever. I feel that it’s starting to influence other artists from all over the world and it’s making a huge impact on the music industry.”
When you aren’t working, what are some of your favorite things to do?
A: “When I am not working I usually use that time to practice guitar, but when I use want a scape from anything music-related, I love watching movies and tv shows, going out with my friends, working out, and playing tennis.”
Can we expect more projects/releases from you in the future?
A: “Sure you can! I am currently working on my original music so you can expect my first single to come out in Mid-March and the EP coming out in May.”
