We had the amazing honor of talking with Sharlize
How old are you and where are you from?
S: “Hello my name is Sharlize True and I’m from Littleton Colorado currently living in Los Angeles/Hollywood.”
We know that you have many talents. Where did your passion for dancing come from?
S: “My passion for dancing came at a young age, let’s say zero;) My mother owns a dance studio in Littleton Colorado called Shelly True Dance Academy. There I was at the studio 5 days a week either running around with the other students as a family or in class. We had a dinner program for the competitive dancers so it was normal to be there from 4-9:00 every night. I would not have changed it for the world, it was a blast!”
Besides dancing you act, sing, and model. Tell us more about what you do?
S: “Besides dancing, acting, modeling and singing I’m a Social Media Influencer. I have approximately 5 Million Followers on my own and with my sister we have almost 8 Million.”
You recently started for YSL Beauty. Tell us more about that experience and how that came about?
S: “I started YSL with them sending me products and posting for their amazing line. They continue on sending me their extraordinary line and I’m happy to collaborate.”
What’s the meaning behind your clothing line “TRUE Wrld” What inspired you to start your own brand?
S: “TrueWrld is my family brand. We started the line for the love of clothes….of course. Creating and shopping for new seasons and trends is a teenage dream come “True”. We are partnered with TILLYS! It’s called TrueWrld X TILLYS. Getting ready to drop our second season with TILLYS. First drop SOLD OUT in TILLYS stores. They will be sending us to Coachella for our next campaign. As a family we put together the TILLYS promo photoshoot. Was great fun with family and friends hitting the best hidden gems in LA.”
Are you working on releasing music?
S: “Not releasing any music anytime soon. Focusing on acting, dancing, modeling TrueWrld Clothing line and Social Media. I have my hands full.”
Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?
S: “Ten years I see myself continuing on my dream acting and as a social media influencer making a difference. If that means for many or one individual then I’ve done my job.”
Who is your biggest motivation to keep going?
S: “My motivation is my family, sister, brother and mother. We are there for each other no matter what, we are a TEAM. And always GOD.”
What’s the hardest thing about starting your own brand and what would you say to someone who’s trying to build their brand?
S: “My advice for anyone building their own brand is to find a purpose and stay focused. It’s hard work but worth it. Ours is to stay “TRUE” to yourself and be “TRUE” to the people around you.”
Anything new and exciting you’re working on?
S: “Yes, always working on new and exciting things. As a family we’re writing, producing and filming our own short films.”
