This rising actress is headed for Netflix!
First capturing our attention in the star-studded movie “Honey Girls, Frankie will now star as Lucy in the upcoming Netflix film adaptation of “13: The Musical”.
We had the absolute honor of talking with Frankie on her first role, dancing, and more!
Q: When did you decide that you want to become an actor?
F: “When I was 8, I competed in a competition where my manager, Mattie from mattie management, first discovered me. She knew that I wanted to be like the stars on t.v. so she told me I should try acting. She sent me my first audition and I instantly fell in love and never stopped!”
Q: Can you tell us anything about your upcoming role in “13”?
F: “This year I wrapped on one of my dream projects 13 The Musical! I play the character, Lucy Hallman, that was originally brought to life on broadway by Liz Gillies. I cant say much about the film yet, but I can say that Lucy is the queen-b of the school who is very determined and powerful. She makes some horrible mistakes but owns up to them in the end. This role was a lot of fun to play and I cant wait for the film to be released!”
Q: What was your first acting role? How was it?
F: “My very first acting job was back in 2017 for a cute show from Dreamworkstv called “Play Anything.” My characters name was Frankie and I wore a new pair of glasses every episode! My very first principle role was in Sony Pictures and Build a Bears “Honey Girls” where I played the character Alex. “Honey Girls” was released this year and is available on digital and dvd!”
Q: When not filming, what do you like to do in your free time?
F: “When I’m not filming, I like to go back to my training. I practice music at home with my dad and I take dance classes in LA.”
Q: Who is your biggest acting inspiration?
F: “I don’t have just one acting inspiration. I really love Anne Hathaway, Selena Gomez, Liz Gillies, Amanda Seyfried, and Zendaya just to name a few.”
Q: What has been your favorite acting experience so far, and why?
F: “13: The Musical has been my favorite acting experience so far because of all the amazing memories made on set. All of us kids in the cast have gotten so close since we started working together and everyone is just so talented. Plus a cast full of kids means an insane amount of bloopers ahaha!”
Q: What message would you want to give to your fans?
F: “A message I want to give to my fans is to never give up!! For those kids out there following their dreams, if you keep working hard and staying motivated, it will happen.”
Q: Where can we follow your amazing journey?
F: “You can follow me on instagram, facebook, tiktok, and youtube @frankiemcnellis and twitter @mcnellisfrankie!”
