This singer deserved her four-chair turn!
With a fan base that grew even larger after her appearance on the hit TV show “The Voice”, Casi Joy is now a chart-topper in this music industry. With over 20 Million streams on her music and a love of performer, we can’t wait to see what else this artist has under her sleeve.
We had the absolute honor of talking with Casi on working with Blake Shelton, her social media, and more!
Q: Did you always know that you wanted to pursue a career in music?
C: “I did, actually! My first performance was at five years old, and since then, I haven’t really had a weekend from the stage! I honestly can’t imagine myself doing anything other than music. It’s been my career my whole life, but also my favorite hobby. If I’m not on stage, I’m still doing something with music 24/7 whether it’s to do with my own career or not. Music is everything to me!”
Q: What was your experience on ‘The Voice’ like?
C: “To this day, it still feels like a dream! It was such a priceless experience getting to have that backstage view of how the industry works at that high of a level. The long days of interviews, wardrobe, choreography, vocal lessons, hair/makeup, and filming for hours made me want it all even more. I’m forever grateful for my time working with Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan! They were such down to earth guys, and really gave some good advice.”
Q: What has been your favorite song that you have released and why?
C: “I think my favorite would have to be one I released years back called “Dandelion.” I wrote it alone, and from an idea I had been obsessed with; how Dandelions (to me) are prettier when they’re dying. I spent so much time trying to figure out my angle with that idea, and when I finally got it, the song writing process just flew by! I’m still so proud of those lyrics, and it’s a really fun one to perform live!”
Q: What has been your reaction to receiving millions of views on your music?
C: “It’s hard to even put into perspective that so many people have watched my videos! I’m still convinced most of the views are my parents! But really, I am so blown away by the response online, and I take as much time as I possibly can to thank everyone in the comments. Staying connected with my fans is what makes this all feel even more special. The community we’ve built is in this together, and I love that social media has given me the ability to bring them along on my journey. It’s a crazy ride!”
Q: Do you have a musician that inspires your music?
C: “I think my music is inspired by quite an eclectic group of musicians. I grew up singing the classic country my mom showed me, but my dad always had classic rock playing in the car. My big brother and sister blasted hip-hop, Weird Al, or Adam Sandler in their rooms, which then became some of my first CDs. I’m so grateful to have grown up around so many genres of music, and if you looked at my Spotify listening history, you’d definitely see that it stuck! I’ve always been paranoid about being pigeon-holed, and I think my wide variety of music influences helps me as a writer.”
Q: What has been your favorite part of performing live?
C: “Performing is my favorite part of being in this industry. Music is such a universal language and feeling, so to get to connect with fans through that outlet is an incredible blessing. Add the lights, the bass thumping in my chest, and that energy flowing through the place, and there’s just nothing better!”
Q: What are your biggest goals for your career?
C: “My ultimate goal with my music is to reach as many people as possible. Growing up, and to this day, music helps me through every situation whether it be happy or sad. I want my songs to be the ones people turn to for any situation. We need songs to celebrate and to grieve, and my goal is for my songs to be there for those who need them in those moments. If we’re talking concrete goals, my ultimate dream is to host and perform on Saturday Night Live!”
Q: Where can we follow your amazing journey?
C: “You can follow me on Facebook, Insta, TikTok, YouTube, and Twitter at @CasiJoyMusic and also stream me anywhere you get your music! I’m always updating my FB and Instagram stories with my day to day shenanigans!”
