This singer is about to climb the charts!
You may recognize his voice from his amazing segment on Radio Disney. Now, he’s back with brand new music that everyone is absolutely loving.
We had the amazing opportunity to talk with Alex on his music, his social media, and his favorite artists.
Q: When did you first realize your love of music?
A: “There are home videos of me dancing as soon as I could walk. I don’t know that I ever “realized” it – I just always knew that I would love it. Truly, it’s like nothing I have ever felt before.”
Q: Tell us about your new single “Blue Skies”.
A: “This song is about heartache, and moving on from a toxic relationship. I like making music that people can hopefully connect with and relate to. I tried to incorporate some older sounding elements from the 80’s. The guitars in the pre-chorus are very reminiscent of Time After Time by Cindi Lauper. I had been listening to a lot of 80’s music.”
Q: Did you enjoy your experience with Radio Disney?
A: “Or course. I had a great time there- I was so young. I think I was 12 at the time, and was the youngest national radio host. It’s wild how life works. Here I am – 21 years old, and I just started a nationally syndicated radio show called In The Mix where I mix the biggest songs, with the top trending TikTok sounds. I mix the whole show, and host it. I am having a blast with the new show.”
Q: What has been your reaction to receiving over 5 Million streams on your music?
A: “I honestly can’t believe it, but I truly still feel like I am just getting started. I am more proud of the fact that I have produced and written most everything that is on my Spotify.”
Q: How has living in Nashville been like for you so far?
A: “Moving to Nashville has been a game changer for me. I had been coming back and fourth for several years – I think since I was 16 or 17 years old. I am around other creators like me now. I am working with ridiculously talented people every day. I am blessed to be able to do what I do.”
Q: If you could collab with any artist on a song, who would it be and why?
A: “I would love to collab with the Weeknd. I think he’s the biggest artist in the world right now. I have respect for the way he approaches his projects. I love his themes, and ideas. He is making big pop music right now. I love it.“
Q: What are your biggest goals for your career? Maybe a future tour?
A: “I want to be the next artist like Pharell or Justin Timberlake. I like these guys because they do multiple things. Pharrell is an artist, songwriter, producer. Justin also acts, dances and he is one of the best performers ever. I want to follow in their footsteps. That’s my goal. I have learned how to produce and write songs out of necessity. I don’t have a big budget – I can’t afford to get my songs produced and work with huge people. So, I learned how to do it myself. I want to continue dropping my own music projects, as well as continue to produce and write for others. IF enough people can connect w my music, I’m happy. I just want to bring joy to people. I hope that in the coming months, I can get more shows going as the world is opening back up- would absolutely love to tour.”
Q: Where can we follow your amazing journey?
A: “Yes! I am posting a lot on TikTok these days – @alexangelo. Actually, all my socials are @alexangelo. Twitter, IG, FB, tinder.. haha. You can also text me. Here is my number: 216-208-4728.”
