This rising singer is hard to top!
17 year-old Singer-Songwriter, Stella Prince has already gained a following for her music career. Not only has her music been played all over the radio, but she has amassed over 50K streams on just Spotify alone!
We had the absolute honor of interviewing Stella on all things her music career so far, songwriting, and more!
Q: When did you realize you wanted to pursue music as a career?
S: “I’ve always known my entire life that this was what I was meant to do. I asked my parents for voice lessons at four years old. And also at age 4 I would put on a cd and play it repeatedly until I’d memorized the songs and then perform it for my family. So in a way I’m just doing the grown up version of that and sharing it with the world.”
Q: Tell us about your upcoming acoustic release of “The Rain Might Fall”.
S: “I’m super excited to announce that I’ll be releasing the acoustic version of my third single to all streaming platforms on September 10th! This is my first time releasing one of my singles as an acoustic version, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”
Q: What is your songwriting process like?
S: “It’s honestly different every time. For some of my songs I’ll know exactly what I want to say days before I sit down to write it and I’ll have the exact melody in my head and it will come so quickly and easily. Other times I have absolutely no idea what I want to say and I’ll play around with a melody and have to see what thoughts come up. Either way it always feels like a gift.”
Q: If you could work with any artist on a song, who would it be and why?
S: “Definitely Taylor Swift! I’m always amazed by how diverse her music is and how many different genres and sounds she has tried out. Her folk music is incredible!”
Q: How do you think you have grown since your debut single to now?
S: “I think I have really grown a ton since March of 2021 when “Before You Leave” came out. Not just my career, but also emotionally. I took a trip to Nashville this July and I feel like I totally jumped a level. It’s so exciting to feel like I’m making progress and I can’t wait for all that is coming next.”
Q: What has been your reaction to receiving nearly 100K streams on your music?
S: “I am so incredibly grateful and thrilled to receive so much interest and support. I was so nervous to put out my first single five months ago because I had no idea what to expect and if anyone would even listen. So I’m beyond thrilled that I’ve been able to reach so many people and honored to think that my music is touching people in these difficult times.”
Q: What are your biggest goals for your music career?
S: “To be as successful as I can be, to work really hard and continue to grow creatively. My dream is to win a Grammy and have millions of people relate to my lyrics and be touched by my music. A world tour would be great too!“
Q: Where can we follow your amazing journey?
S: “Find me on Instagram @stellaprincemusic and also my website stellaprincemusic.com has updates and more info. Thank you so much for the interview, New Scene!”
