The fan-favorite is back!
With well over 1 Million Streams on her music on just Spotify alone, Molly has been so enjoyable to listen to, ever since appearing on BGT as far back as 2012. She’s released bop after bop, her most popular hits being “Commitment” and “I Like You”.
We had the absolute honor of interviewing Molly on all things movies, being on Britain’s Got Talent, and upcoming projects!
Q: Something that is a part of you forever – a huge accomplishment- is Britain’s Got Talent! At such a young age how did you know that this is something you wanted to do? What was the process like finding the right song you wanted to perform for the audience and judges each round?
M: “If I’m honest actually wanted to do X Factor, because I had seen so many incredible singers on the show like Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke, but I was too young. Britain’s Got Talent was the next best thing! And I also thought it was cool that you weren’t just in a singing competition and there were a variety of talents around you. In terms of choosing the right song, in my first audition I sung ‘One Night Only’ from the film ‘Dreamgirls’ which is one of my favourites. Not only because of the story line but because of the amazing cast, J Hud AND Queen Bey! Britain’s Got Talent will always be one of my greatest achievements and I will always be grateful for having the opportunity to audition and perform on the show.”
Q: Even after such a huge milestone you were able to go to one of the top music schools ELAM. What was an experience there that took place, making you realize music was definitely the path you wanted to take?
M: “I always knew that singing and music was what I wanted to do from a young age. It’s in my DNA. Its always been the thing I am best at! But I knew I needed to get some good grades too! ELAM allowed me to balance my time between my college work and my music career. I still managed to leave with a D*D*D*!”
Q: What are some other things you enjoy outside of singing that many may not know?
M: “Outside of music, I’m actually super into Marvel Films, my favorite film being Avengers, and football because my family and I are quite sporty and very competitive (lol).”
Q: It’s awesome to see that you are very active on social media, giving your fans a peek into your day to day lifestyle! ! What’s your favorite platform?
M: “Hmm, I used to be Instagram all the way and I would say I’m the most active on there, but I think throughout the pandemic it’s been slightly overtaken by TikTok. I could scroll through TikTok for hours.”
Q: Young Molly Rainford to Now, how would you describe your sound and how has it transformed from then to now?
M: “Fresh Pop meets nineties R’n’b (oops that’s 5 words…)
I wouldn’t say it’s changed massively since I was younger I just think I’ve found my voice/sound over time.”
Q: What has been your reaction to growing such a large and supportive fanbase?
M: “Incredible. I honestly couldn’t thank people enough for supporting me and my music. It means the absolute world to me.”
Q: About 9 months into the pandemic you wrote a letter to your self, Now about a year in what would be a sentence that you would say to yourself in reflection of your letter?
M: “Your relationships with the people in your life will remain just as important, if not more important now you can actually go out and spend time with those people. So always make time and effort for the people you care about.”
Q: What should your fans be on the lookout for — music or even outside of music?
M: “I actually have something SUPER EXCITING coming very soon. I’m not allowed to say what it is yet but keep your eyes peeled, eeekkkk!”
