Our Urban Hippie Girl is here!
After only posting on Tik Tok for a little over 2 years, Dela has received over 15 Million Likes on her social media content. She’s known for posting hilarious and relatable content, and just being the IG influencer we didn’t know we needed.
We had the absolute honor of talking to Dela on all things social media journey, her biggest goals, and the easiest way to catch up with her!
Q: When did you first start posting on social media? Did you think it would have come to this?
D: “I first started posting on social media in July 2019, I had just started watching TickTock and just got inspired to make some funny goofy videos to some audio sound but I found it pretty cute and funny. I genuinely had no idea that anyone would really like me that much on social media I had no idea that it would spark into some thing like the platform I have today. But that was always a little thing in the back of my head that I was kind of reaching for I just didn’t want to get my hopes up right away and then get let down. Definitely had no clue this is where I would be today when I made my first video.”
Q: What is your favorite aspect of social media and why?
D: “My favorite aspect of social media is definitely being able to reach multiple different people from different walks of life and getting to spread my own message of love and light and how to build confidence in young girls. I think it’s a beautiful thing to be able to share your life on social media because you really get to know another person and it genuinely is like a relationship. It’s a really cool aspect of the Internet that I don’t feel like a lot of people are able to tap into and I feel so grateful for this opportunity to make so many friends.”
Q: If you were to name your fanbase, what would you like to call it?
D: “I never really thought about naming my Fanbase because they’re really just individuals and they are my friends. I would hate to lump them together into a defined group, I feel like that’s almost distancing myself from them. I like to talk to them and when I don’t get to talk to them I genuinely feel like I have a little bit of a hole in my life. I like to refer to almost anyone in my life as dude, it’s kind of an endearing term for me so they’re really just my dudes they’re my friends.”
Q: What has been your reaction to gaining over 14 Million Likes and still counting?
D: “My reaction to having so many likes on social media is honestly unfathomable. I really can’t wrap my mind around how much 14 million is, it’s kind of a shock and awe moment for me. but it really is a very humbling and genuinely amazing feeling that hits me in my core. I don’t think I could ever take any of this for granted I am so thankful that people on the internet like me.”
Q: When not on social media, what is your favorite thing to do?
D: “When I’m not on social media my favorite thing to do is really the off of my phone entirely, I love it to indulge in the arts, I paint and I sing I find a lot of solace in them. my biggest passion of course is figure skating and I still love to get on the ice whenever I get the opportunity.”
Q: You have an amazing sense of fashion, so what is your favorite place to shop?
D: “My most favorite store of all time is a small boutique in my hometown called the urban hippie, every time I walk in there I instantly gravitate to so many cool and unique pieces. I also love the fact that I am supporting a small business while also indulging in my passion for fashion. along with that I also genuinely enjoy going to multiple different thrift stores in my town and neighboring towns, it’s like a big treasure hunt for me!”
Q: What are your biggest goals for your career?
D: “My biggest goals for my career are definitely just to keep building my Fanbase to as big as it can be. I would love to become a motivational speaker for middle schools and high schools. and just be a social media influencer and be able to have that be my full-time job, it is something I am very passionate about and I’m trying to spread more love on the Internet and help diminish some of the hate because the Internet can be a very beautiful safe place, and I would like to make it that for my followers.”
Q: Where can we follow your amazing journey?
D: “You can follow me on my journey on Instagram, YouTube, Tiktok, and VSCO all @DelaReilley.”
