This amazing dancer is full of talent!
At just 18 years old, Jaden Barba is already a name to know on social media. And with over 3 Million followers on social media, and over 100M Likes on Tik Tok alone, he’s still on to bigger and better things!
We have had the absolute honor of interview Jaden on all things his social media, his dance journey so far, and his biggest goals!
Q: When did you first start dancing?
J: “I started dancing when I was 11 years old actually! In the dance world that’s surprisingly really late because most kids start dancing when they literally pop out of the womb. But everyone is different!!
Q: Do you have a favorite move/song to dance to?
J: “I do not have something very specific or a go-to move/song but I do love to incorporate a lot of my turns and tricks to spice up a dance combination.”
Q: You stun in incredible looks. What is your favorite brand to shop at?
J: “Awe thank you! Shopping is so fun! I love shopping on Melrose which is a street in West Hollywood, they have the sickest stuff! Personally, my fav store to shop on that street is IamKokoLA! Koko & her team make the coolest one-of-a-kind reworked vintage clothes. But, for something a little bit more mainstream I love urban outfitters. Last but not least, I love supporting small businesses on Instagram as well. The work these artists put into their orders is immaculate, you’ll never get that from a mainstream company!”
Q: What has been your favorite moment in your career, so far?
J: “My favorite moment would be performing at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Downtown Los Angeles for the Music Centers Spotlight program. If you don’t know what Spotlight is, it’s a scholarship program for Socal High school students to perform their art and help them with their careers as an artist. I was selected as a Grand Prize finalist in 2018 for non classical dance. Performing is one of my favorite things to do. Just being in the presence of a stage is so fulfilling to my mind & soul. Dancing on that stage was definitely a highlight.”
Q: If you could perform with any music artist as a dancer, who would it be and why?
J: “I would definitely say Ariana Grande. I think she’s extremely talented with her art and I’ve been an ari stan since I started dancing. She’s also very inclusive with her castings and tells an amazing message to all her fans!”
Q: What has been your reaction to getting so much success in your career?
J: “To be honest with you, I don’t think I’ll ever be satisfied with where I’m at ever. Don’t take it the wrong way though I’m extremely grateful for every opportunity and position I’m put in. But I’m always hungry for more, there’s nothing wrong with that at all! For example, I booked a commercial for Burlington and after that was posted I was like, cool…. Alright, what’s next? I think it’s super important to diversify yourself and be skilled in all sorts of things. That’s why I’m glad I started tik tok in a way because it gave me a bigger voice so people can see my talents, not just with dance, but with my personality, my looks, my fashion, and sometimes even my daily life. Even with social media, Yes I have a decent platform but i’m always striving for more and constantly elevating myself to the next level.”
Q: What are your biggest goals in your career?
J: “My biggest goals for my career would definitely be the lead in a movie remake of a broadway musical or the lead of a broadway musical. I would love to start my own brand, I don’t know if the brand would be clothing, makeup, or even candles… I love candles. That’s something for the future. Honestly my biggest goals in my life would be to be a triple threat (dancer, singer, actor). That is probably my all time goal!”
Q: How would you describe your dancing style?
J: “My dancing style I would say would be a mixture of jazz dance, mixed in with some hip hop/ contemporary, and some fun tricks and turns!”
Q: How do you think you’ve grown since first starting on social media?
J: “I’ve grown in so many different ways because of social media! I’ve learned that social media is one of the biggest things to ever exist especially in this day and age. Everyone uses at least one type of social media in their daily lives. Showing off your talents is probably one of the best things you can do to take off in my opinion. I’ve gotten so many opportunities because I was showing off my dance abilities and fun fashion! I know a lot of singers get discovered because of the internet as well! Look at Justin Bieber for example! “
