Makeup Artist Sydney Morgan Talks Favorite Look, 6 Million Followers, And Product Plans

Sydney Morgan has one of the biggest view counts for a makeup artist, gaining over 6 Million followers and well over 70 Million views on her stunning makeup looks.

We had the honor of Sydney on all things starting with makeup, her plans for the future, and her advice to fans.

Q: When did you first start getting into makeup?

S: “I’ve been an artist my whole life. I was drawing and painting since I was very young. I started experimenting with glam makeup when I was about 13 or 14 and creative makeup looks when I was like 17.”

Q: Which Makeup influencers do you love to watch?

S: “I’ve always loved watching Bretman Rock and I like the way he was able to incorporate comedy and other parts of himself into his beauty content.”

Q: What was your most popular/favorite makeup look you created?

S: “My most popular look was my bee emoji inspired look it has over 75+ million views total on TikTok. But it is hard for me to pick a favorite I have parts of each that I like for different reasons.”

Q: You’ve amassed a following of 6 million on Tik Tok and a million on Youtube. What has been like to grow such a following in a quick time?

S: “It’s been crazy and the support from my followers has been overwhelming. I’ve pretty much grown my entire platform while quarantining in my house and I’ve finally started to be able to go in public. And I have been getting recognized by followers and taking pictures with them. It’s been very cool to see that number from my profile translate into real people that I can meet.”

Q: How do you think your makeup skills have changed throughout the years?

S: “Like everything practice makes perfect and I’m still working on my art and makeup skills everyday. I’ve definitely spent more and more time detailing looks compared to what I used to.”

Q: If you could collaborate with any beauty influencer, who would it be?

S: “I’d love to do a YouTube collab with mykie from Glam&Gore.”

Q: Would you ever want to start a makeup/beauty company in the future?

S: “Definitely. I have tons of ideas for beauty related products that I plan on releasing in the future.”

Q: What has been your personal favorite look you have done and why?

S: “Like I said before it is very hard to pick one specific look. But around Christmas time I did a full sfx grinch look and put on a Santa suit and walked around taking photos with kids so I enjoyed that one a lot. Definitely, the look I have kept on the longest.”

Q: What would you tell someone if they wanted to pursue the same thing you are doing?

S: “I would say go for it. I’ve always been a big dreamer and I’m not afraid of to do what makes me happy. Also you can’t care about other peoples opinions on what you’re doing. And that’s an important mentality to have in the influencer space.”
