One of our favorite mouseketeers!
Starting as an influncer on social media, Leanne now has over 2.4 Million Likes on Tik Tok. You might also recognize her as one of the new Club Mickeymouse Mouseketers or dancing in the star-studded Netflix film “The Prom.”
We had the honor of interviewing Leanne on all things career, disney, and her goals for the future:
Q: What interested you in starting singing, dancing, and acting as a full-time career?
L: “I’ve been acting, singing, and dancing since I was little and I think it was more of a wake up call and looking around one day and saying to myself, “wow. I’m doing this.”
Q: Who inspired or who are your inspirations to continue singing?
L: “My inspiration when it comes to music is honestly from everything around me. Whether it be one of my favorite artists like Kehlani and Alicia keys, or even my friends that are in the business themselves, both equally inspire me to keep grinding and continue to pursue what I love.”‘
Q: You got your first taste of acting when you played Ariel for the stage production of Little Mermaid. If you can play in any other musical, what would it be and why?
L: “If I could play in any other musical I would probably choose Aladdin because it has one some of my favorite music and I got to see it on Broadway and was blown away!”
Q: When starting off on TikTok, what was your reaction to seeing your videos go viral?
L: “When I first started off on Tik Tok and saw my videos doing numbers it was kind of a weird feeling. It was exciting to see, and the fact that I was doing it with friends just for fun made it even more awesome.”
Q: So you are one of the new Mouseketeers! What was it like auditioning for the Mickey Mouse Club?
L: “Auditioning for Club Mickey Mouse was one of my favorite experiences to date. I remember being so nervous but the second I walked in the room everyone was so loving and supportive. They even had me sing more songs than I planned on because they really wanted me to book it so having the feeling of them on my side was incredible. They are all my second family to this day.”
Q: When you landed the Mickey Mouse Club gig, how excited were you?
L: “When I got the call and met with the producers for this I think is when it really sunk in and I was ecstatic! Also a little nervous to carry on such a legacy with the new generation but so grateful for the opportunity!”
Q: What was your favorite part of the production of the Mickey Mouse Club?
L: “My favorite part of the production of Club Mickey Mouse was the amount of creative control and input we had into the making of the content. We were in charge of writing the songs, choreographing some of the music videos and even picking out our outfits for each! It was a blast.”
Q: If you can send one message to your fans right now, what is it!
L: “If I can send one message to my fans right now, it would be to remain humble, do what you love, and remember there is room for everyone to win.”
Q: Who is your dream collaboration and why?
L: “Specifically, I have way too many dream collaborations to just pick one. But just to be in a room with people who inspire me and push me to do my best is all I could ever ask for.”
Q: What would you tell fans who want to follow what you are doing?
“For the fans that want to follow what I’m doing, I would say go for it! It’s no joke and it takes a lot of commitment and hard work and being strong-minded. But if you’re up for the challenge, don’t let anyone stop you.”
