This NYC influencer is becoming a huge name on social media!
At only 20, Emiliana has received over 7 Million likes on social media for showcasing her amazing fashion sense and giving us a glimpse into her day-to-day life.
We had the absolute honor of talking with Emiliana on all things fashion, favorite brands, and her advice to others:
Q: When did you first realize that you wanted to work in the fashion industry?
E: “I feel like I’ve always known! Growing up I was a huge fan of playing dress up, starting with those princess ensembles (which I would wear as everyday attire), slowly progressing into “borrowing” all of my mom’s clothing and accessories well into my teen years. I was constantly creating outfits in my head, whether they already existed or they were original designs, so it just felt natural to choose a career path where I could do what I’ve been doing for years, professionally.”
Q: How would you describe your fashion style?
E: “Whenever I get asked this question, the first thing that pops into my head is a collage; I feel I don’t have a specific style because it’s just constantly evolving as a result of my environment, whether it’s the music I’m listening to or an aesthetic I’ve been researching. It’s a little bit of everything!”
Q: If you could style any celebrity, who would it be and why?
E: “That’s a tough question! I’d love to style people like Olivia O’Brien and Maggie Lindemann, but I’ve also been gaining interest in styling entire bands like Boys World for the purpose of storytelling and creating characters, which is my favorite part of styling!”
Q: What has been your reaction to seeing so much success on social media?
E: “At first, I was definitely overwhelmed because of how quickly I was gaining a platform, but now I’m just honored and grateful that people are interested in my work and just myself as a person. I’ve been having so much fun and cannot wait to continue this journey!”
Q: What is your favorite fashion brand?
E: “There’s quite a few, but I’d say Vivienne Westwood, specifically her older collections! Runner ups would probably be Alexander McQueen, Rei Kawakubo, and Iris Van Herpen.”
Q: What are your biggest goals for your career?
E: “I want to do a little bit of everything, so I’d say my biggest goal is to complete all of my little goals, like starting a clothing brand, owning a café, building a hotel.”
Q: What advice would you give to young girls wanting to work in fashion?
E: “Oh there’s so much! Do not change for absolutely anyone! Trust your instincts when it comes to your work, let yourself do the learning and the growing. Also, take as many opportunities as you can but don’t ever sell yourself short!”
Q: Where can we follow your amazing journey?
E: “You can follow me on Instagram at @emilahrssen where I post my styling work and my own outfits, or on Youtube (Emi Lahrssen) and TikTok (@styledbylahrssen) for more vlogs and fashion content.”
