This girl group just got their big break!
Known as “Hello Sister”, sisters Grace, Scarlett, and Gabriella, are becoming names to know. After being featured on the iconic Radio Disney, the sisters are now trying their hand as front-runner contestants on the new season of America’s Got Talent.
We had the honor of talking with the girls on all things singing, career goals, and their experience on the big screen:
Q: When did you guys start singing together?
Grace: “We have countless baby videos of us singing together, putting on shows and banging on things. We all early on had a passion for music, and the fact that something we loved could be shared together was so special. One of our teachers was retiring from our elementary school and someone asked if we would be willing to perform something for her. That was one of the 1st times we played together and we knew this is what we wanted to do!”
Q: How did you guys come up with the band name “Hello Sister”?
Grace: “After we recorded our 1st mini album, Grace was in 5th grade, Gabriella in 4th, and Scarlett in 3rd, we went to celebrate at a sushi restaurant! We were enjoying our food and coming up with band names because at the time we were just called the Mason sisters! We started thinking of something that included sisters and everyone said, what about “Hello Sister”? We thought it was absolutely perfect because we were 3 sisters saying Hello to the world. Shortly after, we started to play gigs, live shows, and started our own Instagram account!”
Q: Do you come from a musical family?
Grace: “When the three of us were growing up, our dad was a big influence because he was always singing and playing the piano or guitar! He was in a band called the Earthtones, a pop group in Canada, where our parents grew up! He was a big inspiration to the 3 of us and jamming out with him is a blast! Our Mum also played us all types of music from the 80’s to country and Jazz. We always listen to Jazz at dinner!”
Q: If you had the chance to perform live, where would it be and why?
Gabriella: “One of our biggest dreams is to perform at the Grammys, I Heart Radio or any place we can because it would be such a fun experience and great opportunity to bring back live music! We love playing in live audiences together, it brings so much adrenaline and fun! The fact that we all get to be on this journey together is so lucky!”
Q: If you guys could make music with any artist, who would it be and why?
Gabriella: “There are so many great artists and musicians that we love so it would be so hard to choose! If we had to choose someone it would probably be Avril Lavigne, Paramore or pink! They are all so talented, Intergenic and amazing performers!”
Q: Are you guys working on any new songs or projects?
Grace: “We are always writing new music, we have a 3 song EP out now, as well as more original and cover music on all music platforms. We are excited to announce that we will be a part of the Boys of Summer tour, taking place at the end of July!”
Q: Tell us about your amazing experience on Season 16’s America’s Got Talent?
Gabriella: “Wow! Being on Season 16 of America’s Got Talent is a dream come true! Seeing the judges and performing in front of them and the huge audience was amazing! We are so grateful to be able to be a part of this amazing show!”
Q: What has been your reaction to your success on social media?
Scarlett: “We are so grateful for all of our amazing supporters! We are so lucky to have a fan base that are so kind and positive!!”
Q: What are your guys’ biggest goals for your career? Maybe a tour in the future?
Scarlett: “We would love to be able to play in front of huge audiences! Have a top ten Billboard hit and tour with other Bands! Playing live with instruments is something we love and we want to inspire kids to take up an instrument and play LIVE!”
Q: Where can we follow your amazing journey?
Scarlett: “Thanks! We are very active on our instagram which is @hellosistermusic and our youtube is @hellosister. We also have tiktok: @hellosister and you can check out our music on Spotify, Amazon music, Pandora and Apple Music and all other music platforms at Hello Sister!!”
