This 14-track album is the best start to this year’s summer vacations.
The UK Singer Will Newman has quickly risen in the music industry, after his chart-topping EP “Sand”. Now he’s back and better than ever with his debut album “Daylight Fades To Midnight”.
When asked about the meaning of the album, Will described it as a romantic rollercoaster:
“This album is a musical dissection of my personal romantic relationships. Each song is inspired by my own experiences with love and, together, the tracks move through the rollercoaster of emotions that are involved with most relationships. From first meeting and falling in love (Hey), to realising that a relationship has become toxic (Crazy) or reminiscing on good times (Do You Remember?), the album leaves no emotional stone unturned.”–Will
Here is a review of our top 5 favorite songs on the new album.
Do You Remember?
We are definitely calling this song to be the song of the summer. The beat completely catches you off guard in the best ways. We may or may not have just saved this to our playlists.
Stay All Night
The perfect picnic song is definitely “Stay All Night”. It has such an incredible groove, that you almost instantly sway back and forth. If a party was playing this song, we would definitely Stay All Night.
Aftermath of You
This song is so lovely; the amount of guitar and Will’s tone of voice pairs for the perfect mix for this ballad. It sounds like to came straight from the heart and that is not something most artists can do.
If I’m Being Honest
This song definitely highlights the true versatility of Will’s voice. He keeps a generally deep tone through the song, which makes the specific rises in notes that more enjoyable. We love how every song on this album is completely different but just as loveable.
Make Believe
This is a song we can definitely see being in the soundtrack of a blockbuster teen movie. It’s extremely catchy and while the instrumentals on every song on the album are incredible, in this song specifically it stands out. “Make Believe” is the true definition of indie-pop.
