This inspirational singer has definitely out done herself!
Jayli quickly rose to fame and straight to the Spotify charts earlier this year after releasing her emotional single “Child of The Government”. Her debut EP, ‘Wild Whisper” also follows with the previous single, with the same emotional background.
When asked about the inspiration behind her premiere EP, Jayli describes it as an emotional journey, based on herself and her family. “Wild Whisper is an autobiographical EP that features my father’s experience in the ’60s scoop, leaving the doomsday cult I was raised in, releasing the shame and guilt instilled in me around my bisexuality, depression and mental health, post-traumatic growth, and reclaiming my Indigenous heritage.”
For this fantastic singer, it isn’t just about spreading her voice. It’s not even all about spreading her voice for her family; it’s about spreading the inspiration for others to use their own.
“I finally have the courage to use my voice in telling these stories. I hope this project will be able to shed more light on the subject matters, raise awareness, and bring comfort in solidarity with other survivors of the ‘60s Scoop’, sexual abuse, and high control religious groups.”
The EP is absolutely fantastic; the favorite of the 6 songs would have to be “Would You Die?” for its amazing visuals in her newly released music video.
