This rising music group is going on all of your Spotify playlists today!
If you are looking for new music, then we definitely have you covered. The lifelong musicians have come together to form new group “HARLOR”, with member Nick Gerland on vocals and Max Anthony producing. After receiving over 1 Million streams on their music, on Spotify alone, we are so excited to see what their future holds.
When we asked about their brand new EP “Letters To An X” the duo described the release as an amazing occasion:
“This is our first EP release so it’s is definitely a milestone for us as artists. In a way, the songs on this EP form a story when listened to in the right order. All of the songs insinuate, if not directly state, relationships leading to the end, which gave us the idea of the title “Letter’s to an X”. When taken literally, the title groups these songs as messages to an ex-lover from a relationship that has already ended. In this we hope the EP will help a listener with their feelings on lost love. From a more metaphorical analysis, the title is referring to a journey to a specific point. That’s why we wanted the title to use “X” instead of “Ex”; i.e. “X marks the spot.” What spot the “X” marks is dependent on the perspective of the listener.” – HARLOR
We had the honor of asking the rising group more questions on their music, what’s out, and what’s next:
Q: What is your favorite single on the EP and why?
H: “It’s hard to pick a favorite out of the singles, but one of our non-single favorites is a bit of idiosyncrasy with our EP, “Be Well”. We love this song cause it addresses the issue of depression and the struggle of mental health that has been growing a lot since the start of the pandemic and the isolation from our friends and family. Also, it has this dichotomy between these dark lyrics and a very happy and upbeat instrumental; we thought that was a cool contrast.”
Q: When did you guys first start working together?
H: “We met in college. So probably 3 years ago we really started to form the sound you hear in the HARLOR songs.”
Q: Who have you guys credited as being your music inspirations?
H: “We’ve been greatly inspired by Twenty-One Pilots, Jon Bellion, Ed Sheeran, and Post Malone.”
Q: What are each of your music goals? Maybe a tour in the future?
H: “We’d love to do a tour on our first album!
Q: If you could feature on a song with any artist, who would it be and why?
H: “We always thought Halsey would be a great feature on a HARLOR track cause we have similar musical styles, but I also think her voice would sound good with mine on a song.”
Q: How excited are you guys to release your debut EP, “Letters To An X”?
H: “We’re pretty excited. We’ve worked very hard on the music and just want people to finally hear it.”
Q: Where can we follow your amazing journey?
H: “Our socials are @weareharlor on Twitter and Instagram. And we are on are “HARLOR” on all music streaming platforms and YouTube.”
